Last week, San Telmo Museoa hosted the presentation of the finalist projects from the 9th edition of HAU, the Basque Traditional Object Design Competition, an initiative in which B.lux participated as a collaborating partner.
We would like to congratulate Sandra Hermosa Morgado, winner of this ninth edition, as well as all the selected participants for the quality of their work. The eight finalist projects are currently on display in an exhibition at the museum.
Organized by Bitamine Faktoria and San Telmo Museum, the competition is supported by EIDE, Mondragon Unibertsitatea, Aranzadi Zientzia Elkartea, and B.lux. The aim of the competition was to reinterpret and update iconic objects from Basque culture through contemporary design. In this edition, the chosen object was the traditional oil lamp (kriseilua), inspiring proposals that demonstrate how tradition can continue to spark new perspectives.
For B.lux, it has been a pleasure to take part in this initiative for the first time and to contribute to a project that highlights the value of design as a tool for connecting culture and the future.
