HAU ’26: Redesign of the Kriseilu

B.lux is collaborating for the first time in the Basque Traditional Objects Design Competition HAU ’26, an initiative aimed at reinterpreting and updating emblematic elements of Basque culture. In this ninth edition, the competition focuses on the oil lamp, kriseilua in Basque. The registration period will remain open until May 4.

Organized by Bitamine Faktoria and the San Telmo Museum, the competition is supported by EIDE, Mondragon Unibertsitatea, Aranzadi Zientzia Elkartea, and B.lux. Its purpose is to foster innovation in design rooted in tradition, inviting professionals and creators to propose new interpretations of historical objects.

The jury will award a single prize of €2,000 to the winning proposal. In addition, a selection of the most outstanding works will be included in an exhibition at the San Telmo Museum. Finally, as part of the recognition, the authors of the selected designs will be invited to visit both our factory and our Showroom.
